In an interview with Ebuka Obi Uchendu, Investor Sabinus as fondly called revealed how lucrative the industry is.

There are three main ways to earn money from content creation.
Ad revenue
Paid subscriptions
Product, service, or affiliate program promotion
Most successful creators will use one or more of these methods. With ad revenue, you’ll need to find a site that shares ad revenue with creators, such as Youtube, or use a program like Google Adwords to serve ads on your own website. You’ll earn based on the number of views your content receives.
For paid subscriptions, you’ll likely need to start with a free community around your content, then build premium content for those interested in getting more of what you produce. Most subscription models are based on monthly recurring payments, starting at a few dollars on up per member.
To sell products or services, or promote an affiliate product or service, you’ll need to build a community around topics related to the product or service, then offer your products and services to that audience.
All three methods are used successfully by thousands of online content producers, but competition is steep. You should expect to start small and take some time to build up. Engage with your audience to create community growth
