US Actor, Will Smith, made headlines during the 94th Academy Awards (Oscars) on Sunday night when he shockingly went onstage to give colleague, Chris Rock a dirty slap.
During the third hour of the telecast, Rock took the stage to present the award for best documentary, and cracked a joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith as being in “GI Jane 2” – seemingly a reference to her shaved head. (Pinkett-Smith has been open in the past about suffering from alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss.)
“Jada, I love ya,” Rock said. “G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it. All right?”
Reacting, Will Smith stood up, stormed onstage and smacked a stunned Rock in the face.
As Smith went back to his seat, Rock marveled, “Wow, wow … Will Smith just smacked the shit out of me.”
“Keep my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth!” Smith roared, again seated in the audience.
“Wow dude, it was a G.I. Jane joke,” Rock said, which prompted Smith to repeat his demand.
Well,The actor while receiving his award tendered an heartfelt apology to comedian Chris Rock stating that he does Crazy Things for Love.
