Famous singer, Tems has won her first Grammy at the 2023 Grammy Awards which held on Sunday, February 5.
The sensational musician won her first Grammy for her collaboration in Future and Drake’s “Wait For U”.
Although, some Nigerian fans groan with displeasure as the multiple award-winning singer, Burna Boy lost his two Grammy nominations.
He lost both the Best Global Song Performance category for “Last Last” and the Best Global Album category for “Love, Damini.”
Tems Grammy win makes her the first female Nigerian singer to win the Award.
Although, Nigerian-born British singer, Sade Adu, has bagged 4 Grammy awards. She however doesn’t see herself a Nigerian even when asked about her nationality; hence, Tems clinches the title of the first Nigerian female artiste to win the award.
